HONG KONG, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and 12 others injured on Monday in China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region after a school minibus mowed down pedestrians before crashing into a shop, police said.

Police said the accident occurred around 2:00 p.m. local time in North Point. An 83-year-old man and an 80-year-old woman were killed on the spot.

Among the 12 injured, eight were males. All the injured have been sent to two hospitals.

The cause of the accident has not been determined yet.
