PHNOM PENH, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen flew to Singapore on Tuesday for the 33rd summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and related meetings, to be held from Nov. 13-15, a senior official said.

"The summit and related meetings are very important for the leaders to discuss challenges and find ways to further enhance cooperation," Sry Thamarong, a minister attached to the prime minister, told reporters at the Phnom Penh International Airport.

For the 33rd ASEAN summit, the leaders will focus on building a resilient and innovative ASEAN Community and strengthening intra-ASEAN cooperation and connectivity, he said.

For the summits with dialogue partners, the leaders will discuss ways to enhance partnership in economy, trade, investment, and infrastructure development, he said, adding that they will also touch on the issues of global concerns such as environmental pollution, cybercrime, and terror attack, among others.

Founded in 1967, the ASEAN groups Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
