TEHRAN, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qasemi dismissed as "ludicrous" a recent U.S. allegation that Iranian embassies are involved in terror attacks in Europe, Press TV reported on Wednesday.

"The allegation by U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo are baseless, preposterous and part of a targeted propaganda campaign and psychological warfare against the activities of the Iranian embassies abroad," Qasemi was quoted as saying.

He said that bringing up such allegations was "another attempt by the United States to destroy our country's foreign relations."

Pompeo on Tuesday accused Iran of using its embassies to plot terrorist attacks in Europe.
