One injured by aggressive wildfire in southern California

LOS ANGELES, June 6 (Xinhua) -- A firefighter suffered a minor injury in fight against a fast-moving wildfire scorching far southeastern California on Wednesday, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) said.

According to the latest information issued by the Cal Fire, the aggressive wildfire, dubbed the Recycle Fire, started at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday and had burned down 250 acres (1.01 square kilometers) till 2:54 p.m. in San Diego county.

The firefighters tried to corral the fire on the ground, aboard air tankers and water-dropping helicopters, but so far contained zero. An evacuation warning had been issued to residents nearby, the state agency reported.

Video clips posted online by local NBC news channel showed the fire was sending a thick column of smoke into the air near the U.S.-Mexico border.

The cause of the blaze was not immediately clear, the Cal Fire said.?
