LJUBLJANA, April 6 (Xinhua) -- Slovenian judicial authorities has extradited suspected drug lord Stjepan Prnjat, dubbed the Croatian Escobar, to Croatia on Friday, local media reported.

Prnjat was arrested by the Slovenian police in Ljubljana on March 8 as part of an international operation targetting at a drug trafficking ring.

The extradition was made by the Ljubljana District Court, according to the Slovenian Press Agency (STA).

The alleged drug lord has spent the past month in detention in Ljubljana and objected extradition. The decision of the Ljubljana District Court to extradite him became final last week after his appeal was rejected.

Prnjat was arrested on a European warrant to arrest and extradite on charges of racketeering and drug trafficking under the Croatian criminal code, said the STA report citing the court.

The report also said that six Croatian citizens, two Dutch and one Spanish citizen were arrested in Croatia and Slovenia as part of an operation codenamed Nana. Moreover, a 100 kilo shipment of cocaine was seized at the Rijeka airport in western Croatia close to Slovenia.
