BERLIN, Jan. 12 (Xinhua) -- Coalition talks between the Christian Democrats (CDU) and Social Democrats (SPD) have achieved a breakthrough, Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA) reported Friday.

Progress has been made in such key issues as migration, finance and taxes as several sessions of the negotiation are still ongoing, the DPA said.
